Praying for our children

Just because we are hard on our kids doesn’t mean we don’t love them. We are hard on them because we see the potential in them. The fact is they don’t see the potential themselves. Do not postpone your children. Keep encouraging them and teach them to pray. Pray … pray with them every day. We need to pray for our children’s health and safety. We need to pray so that our children learn to know God and will have a deep desire to do God’s will. Remember that children learn by watching their parents. It is important that we pray in front of them as well as with them. Children who see a mother or a father pass through the trials of life in prayer will remember what he or she saw. When trials come, they will turn to God in prayer.

Being a parent is the most important job in the world. It’s a gift and a blessing from God. God our Father has lovingly placed our children in our care. We can’t raise them alone, we need His guidance. I think the first and surely the most important thing to remember in raising children is to pass our faith on to them. We need to share our faith with them. We need to teach our children of God’s love and promises so that they can be saved, when the Lord’s timing is right. The love of God will equip them to a future of love and peace. It will also make our children strong in faith!

As a parent, I am constantly on guard as to what I say and how I act. I pray daily so that I do not fall! I am constantly searching for God’s love and guidance to help me be a role model for my family to emulate. I love being a mom! It has its challenges, but it is a great joy and a blessing. Being a mom is the proudest thing I have done — raising another human being to make a difference in this world.

Thank you God for such a gift!!!
