Take My Hand, Precious Lord

Take My Hand, Precious Lord is one of my favorite gospel song and very dear to my heart.  The lyrics were written by Rev. Thomas A. Dorsey in response to his inconsolable bereavement at the death of his wife, Nettie Harper, in childbirth, and his infant son in August 1932.

I found this song very inspirational; it helps me to remember God’s promises and gifts to us.  When you are tired, weak, worn out, and nowhere to go, rest assure that your precious Lord will take your hand and lead you to victory.  God will guide your path.  Amazing!!!

The storms of life will blow; we cannot avoid it. Yes, everyone faces the storms of life. Be not afraid while riding through the storm; just have faith and know that your Lord Jesus will hold your hand.  The only way to weather the storms of life is through prayer and faith. And please remember that walking with Jesus it will get better. The storms of life hit everyone but how we handle them is different from person to person.

The reality is EVERYONE goes through storms! “Take My Hand, Precious Lord” tell us plainly not to be surprised about the trials we are going to suffer. DO NOT FEAR!!!!  Friends, thank God for your storms even though there are times that it feels like it’s never going to end.  Use them to bring you closer to God, pray with him, learn of him and be changed by Him.

May God watch, protect, comfort and keep you!  God Bless you!!!
